How About Them Apples
A lighter brownie, these apple filled brownies are a nice alternative to the typically chocolate-rich ones (not to say I don't love those too!). My biggest tip for these, stick 'em in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to get them warm. Toss a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream (or your favorite flavor) and get ready for a tasty delight!

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF ( 170ºC)
  2. In a large bowl, mix and beat together the sugar, eggs, vanilla and butter. When you are finished, stir in apples and almonds.
  3. In a separate bowl you're going to take care of your dry ingredients. Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Mix dry and wet ingredients - put the bowls together.
  5. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes. Note: the top of the brownie mix will have cracks in it.
  6. Let cool.

  • Sugar x 1 2/3 cup
  • Eggs x 2
  • Vanilla x 1 teaspoon
  • Apples (chopped and peeled) x 3 cup
  • Chopped almonds x 1/2 cup
  • Flour x 2 cup
  • Cinnamon x 2 teaspoon
  • Baking soda x 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder x 1 teaspoon
  • Salt x 1/2 teaspoon
