Grammie's Old Fashioned Apple Crisp
Recipe by Kim Doe
Tis the Season...
Any large gathering warrants an easy, tasty dessert. Christmas is one of them. My mother-in-law, better known as Grammie, taught me this one when i was pregnant with my first son, during the Christmas holidays. For extra flavor, use as many different types of apples as possible. I'm sure the grocery clerk thinks I'm weird when she's ringing up one bagged apple at a time. If there are a lot of varieties, you can get away with this. Otherwise, choose a mix of at least types. This treat is served best with French vanilla ice cream, because Christmas is the time to say, heck with the diet. Have a Merry Christmas!

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place sliced apples In an 8x8 oven dish.
  3. In a medium sized bowl, blend the butter and sugar with a fork.
  4. Add the flour, using the fork, blend until the mixture is crumbly. Add more flour, if necessary.
  5. Cover the apples completely with this sugar mix.
  6. Sprinkle a couple pinches of cinnamon on top.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until a fork can easily penetrate through the apples.
