These decadent individual cakes are my mother’s favorite dessert to have when she is entertaining. These are impressive to serve and deceptively easy to make! I like to serve these with fresh berries and ice cream. You can easily switch up the flavor profile a bit by experimenting with different liquors (like Kahlua).

  1. Grease your 6 oz ramekins/custard cups and sprinkle them with sugar. Preheat your oven to 425⁰F.
  2. Melt the chocolates and butter in a double boiler until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Add the flour and sugar to chocolate mixture.
  4. One at a time, stir in the eggs and yolks until smooth.
  5. Stir in the vanilla and orange liqueur.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Bake for approximately 14 minutes or until the edges and top crusts are firm, but the center is slightly wobbly/runny. Run a knife around the edges to loosen and invert onto dessert plates.
  • Bitter sweet chocolate x 4 ounce
  • semisweet chocolate x 4 ounce
  • Butter x 10 tablespoon
  • All purpose flour x 1/2 cup
  • Confectioner's Sugar x 1 1/2 cup
  • Large Egg x 3
  • Egg Yolk x 3
  • Vanilla extract x 1 teaspoon
  • Orange Liqueur x 2 tablespoon
  • Granulated sugar x 1
